Dr. Joy Macci is a dynamic force in the world of sports and performance coaching, pioneering a holistic approach that blends physical training with mental resilience and leadership development. As the founder and CEO of JOY OF SPORT and JOY OF PICKLEBALL, she has dedicated her career to transforming the way athletes, executives, and teams achieve their highest potential. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, she has influenced countless individuals across various levels of competition and industry, helping them unlock their true capabilities.

A Transformative Journey: From Athlete to Global Mentor

Dr. Joy Macci’s journey into the realm of sports began at a young age, fueled by a deep passion for tennis. Competing at junior, collegiate, and professional levels on both national and international stages, she experienced firsthand the transformative power of sports. However, her path took an unexpected turn during her sophomore year of college when a life-threatening injury abruptly halted her professional aspirations. While in a coma, she had a profound “Heaven is for Real” experience, which reinforced her divine purpose: to live, give, and share JOY in the world.

Emerging from this ordeal with newfound clarity, Dr. Macci embraced coaching as her true calling. She embarked on a global journey, working with elite athletes across various sports, including tennis and pickleball, as well as coaching executive sports leaders from organizations such as the NBA, WTA, WWE, and the Special Olympics. Recognizing a gap in holistic performance coaching, she founded JOY OF SPORT in 1995 to provide a comprehensive framework that fosters not only athletic success but also personal growth, leadership, and teamwork.
